FOUNTAIN OF FAITH
MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
OUR HISTORY
A Humble Beginning (1985)
Founded when members of New Promise Baptist Church gathered in the
home of Jasper and Elaine Brown and chose the name Fountain of Faith
Missionary Baptist Church — about 45 members and 30 children strong.
Earliest ministries included the Choir, Deacon Board, Mother’s Board,
Usher Board, Trustee Board, and Willing Workers. Worship services were
held at National Heights Baptist Church; mid-week Bible Study, choir
rehearsal, and church related meetings were held at the home of Deacon
Bernice Walker Berthoud.
Putting Down Roots (1986–1991)
Under the leadership of Rev. William James Harris, the young Fountain of
Faith congregation established 6712 West Fayetteville Road as its
permanent home. Worship services were held in the “Great Room” of the
Walker-Berthoud and Daniels Service Center. Fountain of Faith’s
congregation continued to grow.
Growing in Faith (1992–2025)
The Lord prepared Fountain of Faith to be a church of the community
under the leadership of Rev. Reginald B. Newman. Community outreach
and ministries included feeding, homeless, and prison ministries; providing
aid to Hurricane Katrina survivors and to Liberia, Haiti, and the Caribbean;
and a flourishing Youth Ministry - including Camp Spectacular and the
K.E.P. after-school program - under Rev. Teresa Pugh and Rev. Daniel R.
Perry (“Pastor P”). FOF moved to two Sunday worship services and two
Bible Study classes; grew ministries; and completed a three-phase building
campaign – current sanctuary, connective foyer entrance, and Rev.
Reginald B. Newman and Patrina Newman Educational Building.
Reaching Forward (2026 -)
Installed as Senior Pastor on June 28, 2026, Rev. Breon Williams is carrying
Fountain of Faith into a new season under the theme “Kingdom Quality,”
with new ministries - F.L.O.W. (Faith Led Online Worship), Pancakes with
the Pastor, WOW Bible Study; new community partnerships including the
adoption of E.W. Oliver Elementary School; and reinstituting our nursery,
prison, marriage, and wedding ministries. FOF is also establishing its
bookstore and supporting our HBCUs through an HBCU initiative.
From a home Bible study to a multi-phase campus
Fountain of Faith is Bible Based, Christ Centered, Holy Spirit Led and Mission Minded.
